Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and sons, Michael Wayne and Christopher accompanied by Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville were on vacation last week, a trip that took them over 1100 miles and into four states including Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
They began at Panaroma and traveled the Skyline Drive, on to the Blue Ridge Parkway where at a point known as “Rocky Knob” they traveled back into the mountains a great distance and spent the first night in a cabin, where they had sleeping and kitchen privileges.
The next day they journeyed on down the Parkway, stopping off for the trip up to Grandfather’s Mountain, elevation of nearly 6,000 and the mile high swinging bridge; which only the men had the nerve to walk. After this continued on down to Asheville, North Carolina for another nights rest.
Morning came and the group finished the Parkway trip, them on to Cherokee Indian Reservation, then into Georgia back tracking into Tennessee for a trip across the Great Smoky Mountains and from there into Pigeon Forge and other places of interest. Later back on Interstate 81 and back to New Market then back to native Rappahannock. Great trip, but tired people, the Lord blessed with no problems and a safe trip.
