The crime clearance rate here dropped a percentage point and a half between 1981 and 1982, leaving Rappahannock with the seventh lowest rate for cleared or solved crimes among Virginia’s 95 counties, according to the 1982 edition of Crime in Virginia compiled by the uniform crime reporting section of the Department fo State Police.
