Charles Michael Burke celebrated his second birthday on Sunday, Aug. 15 and was given a “Barney” party by his parents Jeff and Becky Burke, his brother Jef-. frey and sister Krystal.

Those attending included his grandparents Paul and Dale Burke of Sperryville and Charlie and Florine Baldwin of Slate Mills; his greatgrandmother, Mrs. Katherine Ricketts of Las Vegas, Nevada; Bobby and Connie Smoot and children, Joshua, Amanda and Samantha, Joan Baldwin and Carrie, Mike Hudson and Glenn Aldenger, all of Washington, Bo and April Grigsby and Stephanie of Sperryville, Tammy Ricketts and Lee of Flint Hill, Wayne Baldwin and David Roberts of Madison.

Charles received many nice gifts and extends thanks to all of those attending the special celebration.

Saturday Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz accompanied by their two grandsons Eric and Jason Sengstack of Centreville took a bus tour from the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. to Lebanon, Pa. where they attended a Gem and Mineral Show and on to Lancaster, Pa. where they were shown how to pan for gold.

Sunday Mrs. Annie Hawkins hosted a family reunion for her immediate family at the Rappahannock Park. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hawkins and family of five, and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Hawkins and family of three of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hawkins and family of five of Stephens City, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Burke and grandson of Annandale, Mrs. Mabel Burke and family of three of Woodville, Roger Hawkins and family of two of Amissville and Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Alther and family of five, also George Bennette of Front Royal, brother of Mrs. Hawkins.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Simmons were Saturday evening shoppers in Winchester and had dinner in Front Royal.
