Adelphi Cable has completed laying cable in 85 percent of the town, reported council attorney Reynolds. There have been some minor problems with landowners in Sperryvik and the Flint Hill-Chester Gap areas, he said. Coucnil member Mark Bailey reported that the towns of Charles Town and Harper’s Ferry, W. Va., both want street lights other thar the standard lights supplied by Potomac Edison. Potomac Edison supplies power to Washington and both of those towns.
Harper’s Ferry has filed a formal complaint with the power company to use radial-wave fixtures, and that their rewuested is honored, Washington should do the same.
During public discussion, Charles Eldred distributed a parts list from a company that makes lights, fixtures and supplies virtually identical to what Washington uses. He pointed out that these are not reproductions, but new lights that are in “continuous production.”
