The Rappahannock Fanners Association will present a program on Estate Planning at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 at Windsor Lodge, Flint Hill.
Rappahannock County’s proximity to the metro area increases developmental pressure and descendants are forced to sell part if not all of their inheritance to pay state and federal estate taxes, therefore a sound estate plan is essential for the transition of farms from one generation to the next.
The program will be comprehensive look at estate planning, starting with the importance of a good will and examining, in a broad overview, many of the tools available today.
