Jenkins Reunion Planned

The annual reunion of the relatives and friends of the late Luther E. and Ada F. Jenkins will be held at Graves Mountain Lodge Picnic Shelter Aug. 22. A picnic lunch will be served at 1 p.m.

Estate Planning Seminar

The Rappahannock Farmer’s Association is hosting its fourth program on estate planning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 with local attorney Allen Olson as guest speaker. The program will offer comprehensive information ont the options available to preserving estates, the importance of a will that meets the individual needs of families, and the tools available for keeping farms in families.

Tournaments Scheduled

A horseshoe and softball tournament is scheduled for Sept. 4-6 which is Labor Day weekend. Teams wishing to enter should call 6369582.

Schooling Series Continues

The Grove Schooling Show series will continue for four Wednesdays beginning Aug. 18. Shows start promptly at 5 p.m. at the Grove in Warrenton and offer 2’, 2’6” and 3’ jumping classes as well as walktrout and walk-trout-canter opportunities. Entries are $5 per class. Shows will be held rain or shine and proceeds will benefit the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company. For futher information please contact Sherry Hamill-Huff at 675-3848 evenings.

Car Wash, Bake Sale

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department will hold a car wash and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. The car wash will be $6 per car. Anyone wanting to donate baked goods please contact Connie Huff-Harris at 675-3389.

Hunter's Safety Course

A hunter’s safety course will be held at Castleton fire hall from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21 and 22. Everyone between the ages of 12 and 15 apd first time license purchasers are required to take this course. For more-information call 937-5192.

Family Reunion Set

The Dodson and Atkins families will hold their reunion at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22 at the VFW shelter in Front Royal. Family and friends are welcome. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.
