Ardell Virginia Clegg Herrell of Linden died Thursday, Aug. 12 at her home. .. Graveside services were held on Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal with the Rev. Thomas D. Clay officiating. 'n Mrs. Herrell was born in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ada Alexander Clegg.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Albert Herrell, on Nov. 12,1992. . She was a member of the Leed’s* Episcopal Church.
Surviving are one son, David Herrell of Linden; three daughters, Barbara Herrell, Mary Herrell and Anita Herrell, all of Linden; one granddaughter, Tina Louise Butler of Linden; seven brothers, Roger Clegg and David Clegg, both of Pennsylvania, Ulysses Clegg of Browntown, Riverton Clegg of Winchester, Charles Clegg and Albert Clegg, both of Marshall and Sam Clegg of The Plains and four sisters, Goldie Bishop of Colonial Heights, Roberta Van Fossen of Pennsylvania Mary Greyer of Rixeyville and Louise Wright of Paris. I Pallbearers were Bobby Clegg, Slunmy Clegg, Dud Van Fossen, Joseph Greyer and Woodrow Sechrist.
