During the 1940s, the Cheaham family bought the house, added tip pond, enclosed the portico and modernized the house before selling it to the Sharp family in the 1960s.

Throughout its long history, Mountain Green has always been a farm; often a self contained one as the out buildings will attest. There is a smoke house, guest house, even a school house as well as one of the largest barns in the County. At first, the trees were used for tan bark; later mules for the army were raised and now7 the farm is a pick-yourown fruit farm and orchard.

Tea will be served on the ground of Mountain Green from 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. In case of rain, tea will be served on the porch.
