For several years testers at the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey, have said there will be changes in their PSAT and SAT tests. This was the first group of students to take the tests in the new format. The SATs will use the new format starting in March.
For the mathematics portions of the test, students are now allowed to use calculators. One section of the test will not follow the old multiplechoice formula, but instead required students to calculate the answers
