And, true to their family practice roots, the doctors do house calls. Though Dr. Robinson stressed that often a house call is not the best method of treatment — “if somebody is very ill, they don’t need to waste time with a house call, they need to go to the emergency room” — sometimes patients with chronic illnesses who are unable to come to the office are benefited by a visit from the doctors. “It’s a break, and it lets us get to know the families,” Robinson added, his face creasing with an easy smile.
Watching the doctors as they examined patients, it was easy to see why they have added almost 1,600 new clients since moving last year. Both doctors have an easy manner, and spend time talking with each patient about their lives as well as their illness.
