An open house and fund raiser was held last Saturday at the Salem Volunteer Firehouse down on 522 from 1 to 5 p.m. There is a need for both active and assoicate members.

Bethel Baptist Church, down Reva way celebrated its 190th anniversary on Oct. 3 with dinner being served on the grounds following morning service. Bethel Church, composed of 72 members and held their first meeting on Sept. 20, 1803. Eld. William Mason, who had been sent out from old Mt. Pony Church became their first pastor. Rev. Kenneth Huneycutt, their pastor delivered the anniversary sermon.
