TRANSPORTATION MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT #09152 - Culpeper. Individual to plan, schedule, & supervise work crews performing districtwide pavement message, centerline marking, sign installation, and maintenance. Determines work priorities, assigns personnel & equipment, & instructs employees in work methods & in the usage of tools & equipment. Provides safety training & conducts safety meetings; inspects pavement marking & signing operations to verify compliance with applicable regulations & adherence to approved
plans/sketches; and investigates complaints & responds to inquiries from the general public. Performs administrative functions, such as preparing reports, maintaining inventories, and making job estimates & manages employee relations, such as performance evaluations, discipline, and compliant resolution. Requires knowledge of maintenance & construction techniques, procedures, and highway equipment, and construction/maintenance safety techniques and procedures Must be able to supervise & instruct others; monitor budgets; coordinate and prioritize multiple projects; read & apply construction plans; and the communicate effectively with personnel & the general public. Valid Virginia Operator's license Commercial Driver's License (CDL) & safety shoes required. Salary; $23,505 - $35,888.
