She fondly remembers when a class from Wakefield School in Huntly visited her museum. The students took copious notes while she led them through the building, and were later given a written test by their teacher. Miss Jenkins reports that they did very well on that test, too.
Miss Jenkins said that she started collecting when she was really young. She always had in mind to have a museum, and picked up interesting items whenever possible. Many objects were handed down in her family, culled from county auctions, or donated by friends. Everything in the museum is either from the town of Washington or elsewhere in Rappahannock County.
