On behalf of Amissville United Methodist Church, I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratithde to all who supported us in donations toward the benefit auction held at our church on June 10, especially the area businesses who supported us overwhelmingly.
Amiss ville United Methodist was organized in August 1829. Recent inspections made of the current structure indicate, according to saw patterns found in the timbers used, that the construction was pre 1865.
We are planning a restoration to be completed within this year, retaining the aesthetics of the exterior and interior but shoring up, repairing or replacing damaged or deteriorated framing, flooring and roof as is necessary to ensure a sound structure and installing air-conditioning both in the sanctuary and education building.
