Rappahannock New* Staff Writer | The Rappahannock Athletic Association All-Star 11 and 12-year old team placed third in the six-team District 5 Tournament at Stuart Field last weekend. ; The team defeated Greene Gounty Thursday evening and Orange County Friday before bowing to Madison and Orange Saturday in the double elimination tournament.
; Madison went on to win the tournament over Orange Sunday for the championship with a score of 9-2.
The RAA team, made up mostly of players from Rappahannock County, but also some from the Amissville end of Culpeper County, had a loyal following which led the stands in cheers and chants.
Tony Hoffman, coach of the team said, “I think they did an outstanding job. They played together as a team.”
