Support Group To Meet

Easter Bake Sale Planned

An Faster bake sale for the Piedmont Feline Rescue League will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, April 15 at the Rappahannock Coop on U.S. 211. They will offer home baked cookies, cakes, pies and breads. “Please plan to buy a special treat for your family while supporting a worth cause.” said an organizer. Friday at the Library

On April 7 at 8 p.m. Mr. Theodore Scott, naturalist from Orange, will speak and show slides illustrating the effects of invasive alien plants on the landscape and the environment at the Rappahannock Library. Discussion and refreshments will follow.

Miss Rappahannock Pageant

The annual Miss Rappahannock Pageant sponsored by the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Rehearsal and registration will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. The pageant and rehearsal will be the Rappahannock Elementary School.

The contest will feature girls ages 2-19 and boys ages 2-6. There will also be Sisters and Mother-Daughter contests.

Pictures will be taken the night of the pageant by Ken Pullen Photos. Packages will be offered to contestants and the general public.

Health Care in Recovery

Health Care in Recovery is a closed 12-step meeting for Health Care Professionals recovering from the disease of alcoholism/substance abuse. This group focuses on recovery by sharing its experience, strength and hope in the following area: treatment facilities and needs, legal resources, disciplinary board process, aftercare monitoring and employment reentry.

Easter Breakfast at WVFD

The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will have an Easter breakfast from 7-If a.m. on Saturday, April 15. The Easter Bunny will visit with children and an Easter egg hunt will be held after the breakfast.

Head Start Enrollment

Skyline CAP/Head Start is accepting applications for the school year 1995-96. This is a four morning, preschool program located at Child Care and Learning Center in Washington for three and four year olds. Priority is given to low-income families. Fashion Show Slated

The Culpeper Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop second annual Fashion Show and luncheon will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 29 at the Culpeper Country Club.

Tickets are now on sale for SI5 per person at any service organization of the hospital such as the gift shop, coffee shop, reception desk, floor service or at the Thrift Shop located at 219 Waters Place. Chairman of the Fashion Show is Mrs. Edith Witherspoon, you may contact her at 547-3332. All proceeds go to the Hospital’s Auxiliary.
