The RCHS soccer team picked up one win and one tie this past week.
They beat Warren County last Friday, 3-2. Down by 1 to 0 in the first half, with 12 minutes to go, Mike Letsen scored two goals and Willie Shanks scored one. Mike was assisted by Eddie Sause for the second goal.

Spelling Bee
This Sunday seventh grader Katrina Smoot will travel to Hermitage High School in Richmond to represent Rappahannock (County Elementary School in the state spelling bee.
She won first place in a spelling bee held in the school in February. Representatives from each classroom, from fourth through seventh grades, competed in the school bee. Each classroom had held its own spelling bee to select representatives.
The Richmond Times Dispatch and fifth-grade teacher Amy Saxon sponsored the local spelling bee. Efirbara Smith from the Richmond daily was present to present a trophy to Katrina and certificates to second and third place finishers, seventh grader D.J. Williams and sixth grader Steven Clark.
Other class winners who competed in the school’s spelling bee were fourth graders Jamie Smoot, Jeremy Graves and Heather Wooten; fifth graders Lea Pvne, Amy Clinedinst and Lori Schwertieger; sixth graders Amanda Blake and Chris Payne, and seventh grader Chris Turner.
Moffett Has Role
In MWC Play
Melanie N. Moffett of Washington performed the role of Jack’s mother in the award-winning musical “Into the Woods," presented by Mary Washington College.
Ms. Moffett is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Moffett HI of Washington and a 1993 graduate of RCHS. She is a sophomore at Mary Washington College and participates in the drama club and is a senate representative for the student government.
