Robert Jenkins, Sr.
Robert (Bobby L.) Lewis Jenkins, Sr., 57, of Culpeper died on April I at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Rappahannock County to the late John L. and Suzie Settle Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was raised by his step-father, John W. Jenkins and his mother.
Mr. Jenkins worked as a construction foreman for 25 years.
Besides his mother, survivors include his wife of five years, Gertie Jenkins; two daughters, Phyllis Elaine Estes and her husband. Garland of Culpeper and Melissa J. Hitt and her husband. Woody of Culpeper; two sons, Robert Lewis Jenkins, Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Madison and Wayne A. Jenkins and his wife, Louise of Culpeper; three step-children, Benny of Culpeper, Ricky of Madison, Anne May of Culpeper and 13 grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers, Douglas Jenkins and Ronnie Jenkins of Culpeper and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wile of 29 years and mother of his children, Audrey Virginia Jenkins.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 4 at Found & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Charles Shifflett, Re\. William Smith and Rev. Steve Dodson officiating.
Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Henry Jenkins, Jr., Steve Jenkins, Mike Yelken, David Jenkins, Fddie Jenkins, Hanz Shultz, Phil Estes and Larry Dyer.
