That late start means it may not be possible to finish the project before school starts August 28. If work on the lagoon is finished, it could be used even if some other work is incomplete. Dr. Gangel said, because it will take some time for the lagoon to fill and begin discharging.
However, if work on the lagoon is not started, it will be necessary to contract to have the school’s septic tank pumped every one to two days and the effluent hauled out to a treatment plant. That could use up all the extra funds, he said.
