Judge Joshua Robinson from Page County is pushing both sides to complete the case by Wednesday afternoon.
By 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon the plaintiffs had completed their case and the county had begun its defense. George Gilliam, leading the defense for the county, said at the end of court Tuesday that he expected to call one more technical witness and one more “fact witness” before completing his defense.
Although the testimony is filled to overflowing with talk of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, heavy metal contamination, permit restrictions, and the like, at issue is a simple question: Is the county’s ban on sludge “reasonable?”
