Jesse Rogers and Justin Day won a third place trophy in Technology Problem Solving. They had to build a sorter that would separate 16 coins into piles or quarters, nickels, pennies, and dimes without any manipulation. In this contest, students have no idea what they may be presented with in the way of a problem before the one hour contest is held.
All in all, the weekend was very successful and enjoyable for all the members, but the biggest highlight was when John Arnold was elected the Virginia TSA president for the 1995-96 year. He will be responsible for presiding over next Spring’s Technosphere.
Several students hope to attend the national conference in Chicago, 111., but need financial support from the community. If you would like to help out, please contact Ron Vickers at the high school.
