He completed his teaching degree at Shenandoah University in Winchester just two years ago. Last year, he taught at a middle school in Manassas while coaching the girls’ junior varsity basketball team at Manassas Park High School.
He is proud of the record of his girls’ team. The year before he took over the team, its record was 1 win, 17 losses. Last year, he coached the team to a 10-win, 8-Ioss record.
Mr. Baltimore plans to reverse the losing scores that Rappahannock’s basketball team has experienced over the last four years. But he called his first year coaching Rappahannock “a disaster.”
He said the basketball playing will get better each year from here on, because he plans to start with the young players and to groom them to his way of playing and thinking.
“I want to bring the basketball program back to the way it used to be seven years ago,” he said. “When I was in school and we played Rappahannock, they used to give us a dog fight. They just worked real hard.
