Mr. Davis attended Evergreen School and the Warrenton High School, The University of Virginia, the U.S. Naval Academy and was a graduate of the American University School of Law.
Mr. Davis was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Davis was retired as a retail merchant from the Blue Ridge of Warrenton in 1975 after 15 years.
He served in a succession of Government appointments including: Commissioner — Foreign Claims Settlement Commission; Chief of Public Relations — Virginia State Ports Authority and Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Aviation.
Locally, he was active on the Fauquier Democratic Committee and served as chairman of the Fauquier County Electoral Board.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Kirkland Davis.
He is survived by his two sons, A.K. Davis of Washington and T.W.S. Davis, Jr. of Warrenton; two daughters-in-law, Pat Davis of Washington and Gretchen Davis of Warrenton; two brothers, Blackwell Davis of Charles Town, W.Va. and John Davis of Alexandria, Va. and four grandchildren, A.K. Davis, Jr., Carol A. Davis, Lucy E. Davis and Nikki Schlunz.
