In retrospect Judge Snead confesses “to say that I was provincial...would have been a gross exaggeration. I was ‘hollowian’ to coin a word, two steps below provincial. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was ‘backwoods,’ though if someone had called me that I would have been insulted.”
The “Hollow Boy” grew to full manhood. After graduating from UVA College of Arts and Science and Law School, Raynor V. Snead became a Naval Officer and served in WWII.
He was elected Commonwealth’s Attorney of Rappahannock County, and later became Circuit Court Judge for Rappahannock, Fauquier and Loudoun Counties.
Fortunately for us is now retired and lives with his wife, Lois on a small farm near Washington and has the time to come to the Library and sh^re his personal “remembrance of life” with his friends and neighbors in the community.
