Congratulations to Mr. Stanley Settle upon receiving the “Amissville Citizen of the Year” award last Thursday during a ceremony at the Ruritan Club. His selection was based on his many years of services tot he community working with the Ruritan Club, Fire Department, Little League, Boy Scouts, in his church and in the community.
Our hearts are heavy with the tragedy in Oklahoma City last Wednesday in which the Federal Building was bombed, killing scores of innocent people, including children, within 30 seconds. It certainly makes us appreciate our families more; make time for them. In addition to our prayers, help by calling Red Cross at 800-HELP-NOW.
Since this is the week of the “Young Child,” may we determine today to love our children with an unconditional love, and instill in them the values that last a lifetime, so they grow up to be productive citizens in the community, and make good parents themselves.
