In fourth place, Tomeka Washington jumped 12’5” in the long jump and ran the 100m hurdles in 22.6. Tracy Swift finished the 400m in 113.74, Sarah Gentry did the 300m hurdles in 103.56 and Fran Overdorf cleared 4’6” in the high jump.
The girls’ team finished third with 25 points behind Page with 48 and Brentsville with 47.
This was just the second track meet for the team this season as some of the others were canceled due to weather. The next meet will be on Monday at Page County at 5 p.m.
The soccer team lost its second game of the season, falling to Quantico 2-1. Mike Wolfe scored the only goal with an assist from Eddie Sause, in the second half.
Quantico scored their two goals in the first half, one on a penalty kick.
The next soccer game will be at Central this Thursday. The next home game will be on May 3 against Quantico at 5 p.m.
For the RCHS softball team the past week brought one loss and one victory. Of the team’s 14 to 1 victory over Strasburg Friday evening, Coach Carl Payne said, “There were no weaknesses in our game.” He said the team made good catches in the outfield, Susan Jewell did a good job as catcher, and the team had good pitching with Amy Payne going for the
