Cyndi Welch had two hits. Pinch hitters Courtney Mauro and Stacey Payne had a hit each as did starters Angie Atkins and Courtney Welch.
Earlier in the week the team had a bad day against Central on Wednesday losing 18 to 1. “They scored 15 runs in the third inning,” Coach Payne said. “We made a lot of errors, and they scored 10 runs after two outs.”
The baseball team dropped two games losing to Central 13 to 3 and to Strasburg 19 to 0.
Of the Central game Coach Jason Gochenour said, “We made three very crucial errors that rolled into a very big inning” for Central. “It was another case where we played well for three or four innings and then let the game slip away,” he said.
The game at Strasburg was never close. “We were never in the game,” he said. “We made two errors in the first inning. They were up 12 to 0 in the third inning, and then it got ugly.”
Monday evening games against Luray were rescheduled for Friday when the teams will next play at home.
