People’s Choice went to the Hans Schepker family. The Family Trophy was won by the LePelch family of Sperryville.
Several people joined in an Earth Day celebration which started off wfith a prayer led by Rev. Jennings Hobson of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington.
After drumming and dancing, everyone in the group took a handful of red clover seed and cast it across the pasture land.
Local environmental groups such as PEC had booths set up to offer information and sign up new members. Information was also available on the natural history day camp coming up in July, which is co-sponsored by PEC and RLEP.
Artists were also selling their wares, including jewelry and plants. RAWL had T-shirts in beautiful colors for sale.
