In high school, Mr. Baltimore hit bottom when he was unable to attain the minimal SAT score of 700 required by the big colleges offering him athletic scholarships. (He had a 2.8 grade average.) ,
He wanted to walk away from it all. “I felt I had disappointed a lot of people, including myself.” But Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg admitted him despite his low SAT scores.
He went reluctantly, feeling embarrassed to be playing basketball at a Division-3 school. His freshman year, he bombed academically, almost getting kicked out of school because of his 1.8 GPA.
