Friends, family and neighbors gathered at the home of Mrs. Ethel Tyner on Saturday, June 17, 1995 to honor this day lady on reaching her 100th birthday.
Approximately 100 attended the alfresco affair which began at 11 a.m. Balloons, banners, and floral tributes enhanced the scene. There were many birthday cards with special greetings and best wishes. The audience took turns in giving oral tributes the finale being a rendition of Mrs. Tyner’s favorite hy mn. Amazing Grace.
Mrs. Tyner's pastor. Elder Rodger Frazier, gave blessing for the food and thanked our Lord for this wonderful lady.
David Roberts provided the beautiful cake, trimmed in red and accented by red roses and numeral candles. Many other culinary delights lavished the tables.
Extra parking could be found at Rey nolds Memorial Baptist Church and at the Methodist Church, courtesy Mr. Heddleston and Mrs. Wayland. Many thanks to them.
