Lee Albrecht
Warrenton town attorney Lee Wayne Albrecht, 47, died at Fairfax Hospital on July 22.
Albrecht was diagnosed with leukemia during a routine physical in July of 1992 and underwent a bone marrow transplant at the Medical College of Virginia in March of 1993.
After a six-week stay in the hospital, Albrecht returned to his Amissville residence for two months of homebound isolation.
He returned to the hospital when he contracted a severe infection, but was sent home on June 10, 1993, eight days before his new daughter, Grace Abigal Lee Albrecht, was bom.
According to Nancy Frazier, who is the mother of Albrecht’s wife, Angela, Albrecht was free of leukemia at the time of his death, but succumbed to complications from the bone marrow transplant.
Albrecht, born in Patterson, N.J., was the son of Robert Eugene and Wilma Lee Albrecht of Warrenton. He graduated from William and Mary in 1970 with a degree in accounting and from William and Mary law school in 1974.
He moved to the Warrenton area in 1975 and began his law practice. He also taught accounting part time for the Northern Virginia Community College.
He loved the arts and music and played both and acoustic guitar and piano. He was an avid athlete; before his illness, he hiked Old Rag Mountain regularly.
Albrecht was known as a private individual, but was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife and child; his parents; two brothers, Robert Eugene Albrecht Jr. of Amissville and David Clark Albrecht of San Jose, Calif, and one sister, Sherrie Darlene Albrecht of Charlottesville.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 26 at Warrenton Baptist Church.

Eva Clarke
Eva P. Clarke, 101, of Hartford, Conn, died on July 28 at her home.
She was bom in Amissville and had lived in Hartford for 75 years.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Amissville.
She was predeceased by a brother, William D. Phillips and two sister, Mildred R. Phillips and Rhoda K. Phillips Jones.
She is survived by a sister, Ethel L. Phillips of Hartford, Conn, and three devoted friends, Mereedes and Wilbert Croutch of Vernon, Conn, and Arthur Washington of Hebron, Conn.
Funeral services were held at the Union Baptist Church in Hartford, Conn.
Graveside services will be held at the Phillips Family Cemetery, Amissville at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 4. The Rev. Forrest Freeman will officiate.
