Reunion Planned
The annual reunion of the family of the late Alfred an Catherine Gearing Jenkins will be held Sunday, Aug. 13 at the Rappahannock Park, Washington. All friends and relatives are urged to attend.

Summer Workshops Set
The Extension Office, will be offering educational workshops for youth ages 9-13. Older youth are needed to help in leadership roles. Call 675-3619 to register.
Babysitting — Aug. 8 and 9, 9 a.m.-12 noon for children ages 12 years and up. Learn about child development, discipline, safety, games, snacks and other duties to be a responsible babysitter.
Electric Energy Aug. 15-16, 9:30 a.m.-12 noon. $2. You are in for a “shocking” experience in this workshop that teaches safety, batteries, wise management, and energy alternatives.
You Be The Chef— Aug. 21-23, 9-11:30 a.m., S3. Can you become a gourmet chef? Well, maybe not, but you will learn cooking techniques and prepare food dishes.
Gardener's Assistance
The Extension Master Gardeners are working several mornings a week this summer to provide homeowners with home horticulture and gardening information and to help with gardening problems. If you need assistance, please call 675-3619 or come by the Extension Office.
Weight Control Club Planned
Virginia Cooperative Extension is sponsoring a youth weight control camp Aug. 27-31 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center. Front Royal. “Camp Lighten Up" helps teach boys and girls to develop health weight control practices, better eating habits, and improve self esteem and bodyconcept. Open to boys and girls ages 9-14. The Camp costs SI 10.

School Board Candidates Forum
The First Thursday Education Support Group is looking for individuals and other local groups who share an interest in sponsoring a “Meet the School Board Candidates Night" this fall. An organizational meeting is planned for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3. Rappahannock County Library Community Room. All are welcome. The First Thursday Education Support Group is a local group of parents, teachers and others interested in exchanging ideas and information on education issues, and advocating for positive support of quality education for Rappahannock County children. The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meetings at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Holiday Inn, Culpeper.
