The Monarchs scored seven times in' the sixth. Furr led off the inning with a walk and went to third on a double by Brian Hackley. Atkins doubled both of them home, j Atkins stole third and was thrown out attempting to score on Aylor’s fielder's choice. Williams walked, moving Aylor to second, and Parker doubled, scoring Aylor. Bennett walked, loading the bases for Howard, who hit a grand slam.
The Monarchs did score five more runs in the seventh. The ke> hits in that rally were singles by Thomas Jones, Timmv Clanagan, Festus Clanagan and a double by Leroy North.
The Monarchs will now face Edinburg in a rematch of last year’s finals, which Edinburg swept with relative ease. This season, Rappahannock and Edinburg split the season series with two w ins apiece.
The first game of the finals will be at Rappahannock County High School at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 5. On Sunday at 2 p.m. the two teams play in Edinburg.
