There were some bright spots for the Monarchs with William Parker reaching base five times with four singles and a base on balls and Paul Brown adding a triple.
Leroy North started on the mound for Rappahannock pitching six innings and striking out six. J.C. Welch pitched the seventh and eight innings striking out the side in the seventh and striking out another batter in,the eighth.
Rappahannock’s next game is this Sunday, June 9 at Shenandoah Park in Toms Brook. The Monarchs will be facing Woodstock. This will be a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
