To the Editor:
I would like to thank Walt Longyear for inviting Rebecca Bucchino to speak to all that were interested in Goals 2000. Clearly, Ms. Bucchino’s research has produced facts that Goals 2000 is a poor excuse for better education. Goals 2000 is only a small segment of a systematic change for our society to include our schools and business environments. Our children will continue to complete their education with less academic accomplishments in exchange for greater social skills.
I would like to encourage our elected officials to hold more public meetings on such controversial issues before they vote. 1 am quite concerned about the lack of interest that four of the school board members exhibited by their lack of attendance. However,
