The other two top trophies were won by Jason Carter and Jason Brown. Jason Carter received the Neil Burke Memorial Award for consistent effort throughout the year. Jason Carter won the Sportmanship trophy.
Jason Carter competed in cross country during the fall, played varsity basketball during the winter and competed in both track and field events ifi the spring.
Jason Brown played varsity basketball, serving as point guard for much of the season. A leg injury put him out for the end of the season and threatened to keep him out of the baseball. However, he returned, limping at first and contributed significantly to the baseball team.
Sheriff Gary Settle announced that he was donating all the money he had earned for supervising the gym on Sundays, one of his days off, to the RCHS athletic program. The sum was $1,480.
Butch Zindel was cited for donating the materials to build the entrance sign for RCHS, and Tom Wolfe was prais.ed for numerous helpful acts, including mounting a huge “Panther Pride” banner in the gym.
