The traditional RCES Field Day was combined with DARE Day last Friday, producing lots of excitement. The front of the elementary school was lined with exhibits and hands on activities brought by various law enforcement agencies and other organizations promoting safety. In the meantime younger children competed in a variety of events in back of the school while fourth through seventh graders held their activities on the field between the school and the School Board Office. Clockwise from top left Mrs. Johnson’s third grade class competes in the team tug-of war; fourth graders Nathan Welch and Patrick Lawrey compete in the two-man tug-of-war; Cara Levick sported a Dr. Seuss hat; everyone wanted a chance to dunk Capt. Jeff Brown, and McGrufT the Crime Dog enchanted the children.
