opposite direction on Route 628, past my house at incredible speeds. As it is now, it is a bumpy functional road, requiring slower speeds and common courtesies.
There is a VDOT-sponsored public hearing on this road. June 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. The hearing will be at Wakefield Country Day School, located near the comer of U.S. 522 and Route 630 in Huntly.
I hope anyone who prefers that Route 630 not be straightened and widened will consider coming on June 18 to the hearing. Letters to VDOT would also help. Surely, there are better ways for roadway monies to be spent.

Cemetery
To the Editor:
I read the letter to the editor entitled “Masonic Cemetery Needs Help,” in the May 29 issue of the Rappahannock News with great interest.
My mother (Almeda H. Armentrout, nee Hudson; bom August 29, 1900, in Washington) and I were concerned about the future of the cemetery with the passing of Gibson Wharton. He was always very helpful when we talked to him about the cemetery or ate in his restaurant.
