Going into the home stretch of the RAA season, in T-ball action Saturday the Lions’ Club Lions defeated Ray T. Cannon’s Cubs 21-17.
For the Lions, Ben Hackney, James Henze, Will Sonnett, Chris Anderson, John Batis and Luke Wilson had three hits each. For the Cubs, Anthony Dennis had three hits including a home run.
In Minor League action, R.L. Rider’s Dodgers defeated the Memory Makers’ Yankees 16-1. Zachary Tamburello was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts. Jacob Dodson came in as a reliever for the save. For the Dodgers Zach had three hits, and Alex Hammer had two. Jacob Dodson and Kevin Burton each got a double. For the Yankees Scott Anderson had two hits including a double, and Alex had a single.
In an earlier Minor League game Howard and Lisa Swaim’s Braves defeated David and Donna Sheffield’s Indians 16-3.
In the Major Leagues the Red Sox and Pirates played to a 2-2 tie.
In the Babe Ruth Division, the Rockies split a double header, defeating the Royals and losing to the Orioles.
