Hospice of the Rapidan will host the meetings at 1200 Sunset Lane, Suite 2320 of the Mulberry Commons office park in Culpeper. Anyone who has experienced the death of a loved 1 one prior to April, 1996, is welcome to benefit from this free support group. Participation is not limited to those grieving for hospice patients.
Guided by experienced group facilitators Nancy Wells and Rev. Guizar, participants will create a Supportive environment in which they can share their feelings and discover new coping skills. Participants will agree to keep all discussions confidential, and the group will not accept new members after the first session. To reserve a place in the group, icall 829-5764 by July 10. ' • •,
Nancy Wells, MSW, LSW,' is the medical social worker for Family Care Home Health and Hospice.-Rev. Dick Guizar is certified by the Association for Death Education and Counseling, and is further qualified by a Master in education counseling from James Madison University and a B.A, in religion from Chapman College in Orange, Ca.
The hospice philosophy of care is an holistic, interdisciplinary approach to improving the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their families. Along with pain management and psycho-social support, bereavement is an integral component of hospice care. Patients who are terminally ill often find it comforting to knpw that they can rely on the hospice staff and volunteers to help their loved ones cope with grief.
