Scouts. Jim and Steven Clark were Boy Scouts, but Tano said he does not think his town had scouts. “I wanted to try something new. It was fun.” He particularly enjoyed the campouts.
He played varsity soccer both years in the fullback position. He had played as a young child, but said he was not very good and “sat on the bench the whole game watching other little kids play.” He took the game up again in Rappahannock with considerable success.
He was’ also active in the Technology Students of America chapter at school and the National Honor Society. He represented RCHS in a state level forensic contest this year in extemporaneous speaking.
Tano will return to Uruguay before starting college in the fall, but first his parents and brother are coming to Rappahannock County to see him graduate Saturday.
