The vendors who will be lining Gay Street this 4th of July during the Town of Washington’s patriotic celebration include those selling ThaiAmerican food and others with booths filled with pottery, oil landscapes, puppets, handmade woodwork, quilt racks, children’s rocking chairs, hobby horses, and wooden swings.
“I’m enthusiastic about this year’s response,” said Charlie Thompkins one recent afternoon. As chairman of the committee that deals with vendors, he said that this year’s response thus far is greater than last year’s.
“We have a potential 78 spaces and 45 of those are taken already,” he said. “We are way ahead this year.
