To Elect Officers
The Rappahannock Historical Society is looking for ‘a few good men and women.’ They are needed to
jfill top positions in the society’s list iof officers, a nominating committee, [comprising Ed Barton, Mrs. Frances ;Thomton, and Judge Raynor Snead, is 'seeking volunteers to serve during the ^coming year as Historical Society 'President, Vied President and Secretary. ! Anyone interested in serving the I society is urged to contact any mem[.ber of the nominating committee as ;soon as possible. ; Nominees will be elected at the ^society’s annual membership picnic 'Scheduled for Friday evening, Aug. 2. iThe location of the picnic will be ! announced later. * Outgoing President Howdy Holschuh urges all members to plan ;to attend this picnic. In addition to the election of officers, a covered dish supper and historic program are scheduled. The picnic is open to all paid-up members and their house guests. New members, who join before the picnic are encouraged to attend.
The Historical Society is also planning a ‘silent auction’ to be held in the near future.
