safe speed of 40 mph and charged her with reckless driving.

In an accident on U.S. 211 on Sept. 10 at 1:50 p.m., Michelle Smith, 35, of Falls Church, ran off the right shoulder in her 1989 Dodge coupe. According to Capt. Jeff Brown of the Sheriffs Office, Ms. Smith then lost control of her car, turned sharply to the right, and crossed the two otehr lanes and crashed into the guard rail on the left side of the road. Capt. Brown said her car was a total loss and that reckless driving charges are pending. Capt. Brown said that Ms. Smith admitted that she had taken her seatbelt off right before the accident, but that the airbag had deployed and that is what saved her. Mrs. Smith was taken to Fauquier Hospital with minor injuries.
