The Panther girls' basketball squads dropped games to Stonewall Jackson away and at home in the past week.
On Thursday the varsity lost 7937. Sonya Wigington had 13 points. Sarah Gentry and Angie Atkins had five] each and Dawn Havstad added sev$n more.
Coach Laura Conklin said that Stonewall Jackson and Goerge Mason are ithe toughest teams the girls will face this season. Sonewall plays a running game, and last Thursday her varsity girls made the mistake of trying to run also when she wanted them to play a more deliberate game on offense. "They beat our pants off," she said.
On Tuesday the varsity lost again 74 to 43, but Coach Conklin was much happier with the girls' play. ■>
