On Oct. 8 the Piedmont United Way will kick-off its General Campaign with a Pacesetter Recognition Dinner to be held at the Aberdeen Bam in Culpeper starting at 5:30 p.m.
United Way is pleased to announced that this year's keynote speaker will be George T. Dasher. Mr. Dasher is vice president of the Lockheed Martin Air Traffic Management Group, on assignment in Portsmouth, England, he is also the managing director of the development of a new air traffic control system for the British Civil Aviation Authority.
The Dasher family has resided in Culpeper since 1976; they are active members of the Culpeper United Methodist Church and long time supporter of the United Way effort.
In 1988 Mr. Dasher was chairman of the United Way Employee Charitable Campaign for IBM in Manassas, Virginia — a campaign that raised over $700,000.
