Mr. Fort has been working as an abstract sculptor in wood and stone for twenty years and studied under Jennie Lea Knight, Leonard Cave, Ralph Banney, and Ruth Waters. His work has been featured in many juried shows in Washington, D.C. area, as well as in Maryland and Mississippi.
"Finding and releasing the artist part of me has been a great discovery," said Mr. Fort who is an attorney and teaches advance lobbying courses at George Washington University. "Years of parenting, lawyering, and city living left little time for that artists part to emerge, but once out, it has become a significant focus. I find the sculpture process to be exciting, creative, challenging and lots of fun.” ,
Mrs. Novak received her training rin New York City at the legendary Art Students' League and the School of Visual Arts and in Newark at New Jersey State College, and Has been a member of the Painters and Sculptors Society of New Jersey and the Board of Directors of the Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville. Her work has appeared in regional and national juried shows in New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and South Carolina.
