Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the First Baptist Church in Front Royal with Dr. Mark Jordon and Rev. John P. Oliver, Jr. officiating.
Burial followed in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was bom September 4, 1910, in Sperryville, son of the late Atha Lewi$ and Esther Jenkins Brown.
He was employed by Virginia Trailways for 19 years after which he worked for the Town of Front Royal Water Department.
He retired as a deputy sheriff for the Warren County Sheriffs Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and the Men's Bible Class.
He was a member of the Front Royal Volunteer Fire Department, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #374, and the Warren County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie Hawkins Brown; a daughter, Nancy Brown Messick of Richmond; a son, Roger Floyd Brown of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.; two sisters, Katie Brown Wayland and Lucy Brown Creel, both of Culpeper; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steven Messick, Steven King, Milton Hawkins, Jr., William Amientrout, Donald Hawkins and Alton J. English.
Honorary pallbeares were members of the Men's Bible Class of the First Baptist Church, the Front Royal Fire Department and the IOQF Lodge 374.
