Private property owners with property damage who intend to seek assistance in repairing the damage from Hurricane Fran may visit the Disaster Assistance Center in the Jamesway Plaza Department Store on U.S. 211 outside Luray. The hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. They may also contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) teleregistration line at (800) 462-9029 to register. A packet of information about programs will be mailed out, and applicants should not call this number again once they have registered.
