The center will be moving from an area around Ms. Babcock's house to a structure originally built for apple pickers and called "the hotel." The Jenkins family had asked that all vehicles involved in work on rehabilitating this building for use of the herbal center use the Route 624 access also, but Ms. Babcock said she had applied for a permit to do the work on the building "to preserve it" whether or not the herbal center received a permanent special use permit. "It's just a beautiful building with an incredible view of Old Rag," she said.
Ms. Maier said she had received interest from professional people about taking a course that would not commit them to a nine-month period. She said she also wanted the right to operate the school during the week for occasional week-long classes.
Ms. Maier had several fans of the center in the audience to address the BZA last Thursday.
